Hi, I am Danelle Bosch
Psychometrist
If you're feeling lost about subject selection, career options, or even suspecting learning difficulties, I offer personalized support to empower your child's academic journey (ages 3-18). My approach is built on in-depth assessments.
I utilize a variety of tools, including Psychometric and IQ assessments, to gauge your child's strengths, weaknesses, and overall school or Tertiary Study readiness. These assessments can also uncover any underlying learning difficulties or identify if special needs education might be beneficial.
I am bilingual and can do all assessments in English and Afrikaans.

Measuring the Mind with Precision
Psychometry is the process of gathering as much relevant information as possible about the client from a variety of sources (parents, teachers, assessments, other healthcare practitioners) to help:
The HPCSA has tasked Psychometrists with the role of making psychological assessments accessible to the diverse multicultural population of South Africa to enhance our people’s psychological well-being.
Why do a psychometric assessment?
Psychometric assessments provide parents, teachers and clients with a starting point to identify potential learning barriers and gain a deeper understanding of the learners’ academic performance.
Suggestions on how to work through these academic challenges are made but it remains the learner, parent, guardian or teachers’ responsibility to utilize the suggestions made after the assessment process and work on improvement every day.
I Focus on a growth mindset
The Goal is to provide insight and equip people with knowledge and understanding to not just survive but thrive through their academic journey.
Together we will create a personalized assessment plan to address your specific academic needs and provide you with steps to keep growing your knowledge and abilities.
The Assessment Process
1. First contactThis is the time between when a potential client initiates the first message and the first appointment. During this time communication is done electronically, and I will reach out via email, WhatsApp or a phone call depending on the parents/guardians/teachers request. Information is shared regarding potential questions and what documentation is required from the parents/client. The intake interview is scheduled in this time. |
2. Intake interviewThe intake interview is the first official step when assessing a client. The goal of this step is to gather the most, relevant, information possible from a variety of sources. This information guides the assessment selection process and usually provides vital information for the integration of results. Examples of information gathered during this session includes information from the clients teachers, school reports, previous assessments, and the client’s relevant medical and developmental history. This interview normally lasts an hour and is informal and relaxed. Clients are encouraged to share as much information as they feel comfortable with and that is relevant to the assessment process. When assessing at schools and there is no way for the parent/guardian to attend the intake interview I can provide parents/guardians with an intake form to complete along with a consent form. |
3. AssessmentAssessments are scheduled at a convenient time for the client, bearing in mind that assessments should be conducted in the morning to ensure that clients are not tired. Parents/ clients should note that assessments might have to be scheduled over multiple sessions based on the work pace of the client. Sessions can last between 1-4 hours. Assessments take place in my office or at the school of the client (if approved by the school) and assessments are done in the medium of instruction of the clients school. I can assess clients in English and Afrikaans. |
4. Report writingThis step includes the scoring, interpretation and integration of the different assessment results with the information gathered in the intake interview to compile a comprehensive report. The client would receive a hard copy of the report along with a referral letter, if a referral was suggested in the recommendations of the report. The report can take 1-2 weeks to complete. |
5. FeedbackThe feedback session is scheduled after the completion of the report, it is about an hour, and I encourage parents/clients to have this session face to face. During this step I will go through the report with my clients explaining the assessment results and recommendations that were made. I motivate parents/clients to ask as many questions as needed, raise concerns and discuss the report until they understand it. |
6. Next stepsNo further appointments are required with me as a client can only be assessed on the same tests after two years have passed. It is the parent, guardian, teacher or clients responsibility and choice to follow the recommendations made in the report. |
