Scholastic Assessment

Unlock Your Child’s Academic Potential

Identifying Strengths, Overcoming Learning Barriers

Scholastic assessment is a method used to evaluate a student's academic abilities and knowledge across various subjects. A full scholastic assessment consists of a variety of assessments that can determine a learners academic strengths and weaknesses. These assessments identify the cause of a learners academic challenges, also known as learning barriers or learning differences.

From this process strategies to assist the learner, or intervention programs, can be established. These intervention strategies allow learners to realize their full potential, allowing them to perform to the best of their ability. Scholastic assessments, therefore, play a vital role in understanding and supporting a learners educational journey.

What a Scholastic Assessment Covers

Areas assessed in a full scholastic assessment:

  • Cognitive ability (IQ): Verbal and non-verbal intelligence, processing speed and working memory

  • Phonemic decoding efficiency/phonological processing
  • Reading, spelling, and mathematical ability/level
